La Gloria
at centre of 'cover-up claims' over cause of swine flu
“How did it come
out? Do another one!” says Edgar Hernández, 5, as he
poses for photos in the dusty track outside his home in the tiny
Mexican town of La Gloria.
Edgar, the world’s
most famous victim of swine flu, has found himself at the centre
of an outbreak that is threatening to become a global pandemic.
He is thought to be the first person to have been confirmed with
the virus, and the world’s attention is now fixed on the rural
town in Veracruz state, where locals claim that a US-owned pig farm
is the source of the disease.
La Gloria’s apparent
isolation between soaring mountains — craggy-faced men on
horses and carts stare at the television cameras — belies
its close ties to the outside world. With the little farm work available
in steep decline, many commute on buses to Mexico City. This, say
locals, could be the link that the world is searching for.
La Gloria is
at the centre of a bitter row concerning an alleged source of the
infection — a large pig farm six miles away owned by Carroll,
a subsidiary of the US food giant Smithfield. Residents say that
an uncovered lake of pig excrement — seen by The Times —
seeps into the water and the earth and sends noxious fumes into
the air; there are several stories
of piles of dead pigs generating swarms of flies...

Swine Flu: Protect Yourself and Loved Ones
Kim EvansAuthor of Cleaning Up! The Ultimate Body Cleanse.
Posted May 2, 2009 | 09:56 AM (EST) From the Huffington Post
The swine flu
is very unfortunately upon us, and if you're like many, you're asking
yourself what you can do to protect yourself and your loved ones.
Some very standard things apply:
1) Stay home
as much as possible.
2) Avoid public places unnecessarily.
3) Wash your hands frequently, and keep your hands from your face.
4) Get some surgical face masks and wear one when you need to be
in public places, even if you feel a little foolish and until others
have caught on.
The above is
all pretty basic stuff, I'm going to offer more as well. But before
I do, you should know that I'm a huge proponent of body cleansing,
or removing the accumulated waste that most people have stored in
their bodies. I've been a fan for years and have seen cleansing
work miracles in myself and others, but in circumstances like this,
I believe deep cleansing could actually save your life. Let me explain
why and to help you understand, I'm going to provide an analogy.
Your
trash is overflowing and you have flies. You can approach this problem
in a couple of ways. You can get some bug
spray and attempt to kill the flies, but there's a good chance you'll
find that they just keep coming back and you'll also have polluted
the air around your home.
OR,
you can change the environment that attracted the flies in the first
place.
You can empty the trash and wash out the trash can. Then, you'll
likely find that the flies leave on their own and subsequently are
no longer attracted to the area, which solves your problem. In a
simplified nutshell, this is how and why cleansing works.
(Flies
Be Gone will solve this problem!)

| The
Little Boy Behind the Swine Flu Crisis
By XANA O'NEILL
From
NBC Chicago

|
The swine
flu crisis that has gripped the globe and spread fear worldwide
can be traced back to a little boy from a small Mexican village,
according to reports.
Four-year-old
Edgar Hernandez was infected with what is believed to be the first
mutant strain of swine flu in a tiny village in eastern Mexico where
|
residents
have complained about the smell and flies from a pig farm nearby
that raises one million animals a year, the Times UK reported.
Little Edgar
suffered from flu-like symptoms but recent tests revealed that the
young child had the same strain of swine flu that killed more than
150 in Mexico, the paper reported.
The little
boy survived -- but not before an outbreak of the virus plagued
60 percent of villagers. Residents of the boy's hometown of La Gloria
complained about "manure lagoons" and swarms of flies
from the industrial pig farm -- a facility about 12 miles from the
village that is partly owned by Smithfield Foods, the world's largest
producers and processor of pork products based in Virginia.
A spokesperson for Smithfield told the Times that the company found
no clinical signs or symptoms of swine flu in its herd or employees.
More than 400 residents complained of respiratory illness in February,
prompting health workers to seal off the town and spray chemicals
to rid homes of swarms of flies, the Times reported.
